Role: Finance Associate

Location: Los Angeles, CA

Reporting to: Director of Finance

As a Finance Associate at FINESSE, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our finance operations and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial processes. This role will involve project management, conceptual and strategic problem-solving, and quantitative analysis. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll be part of a passionate team that combines visionary thinking with precise execution. You will collaborate closely with department leaders and engage directly with the C-suite.

Responsibilities include:

• Assist in preparing and analyzing financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statements. Provide actionable insights to support strategic decisions.
• Track expenses and assist in maintaining budget controls, ensuring effective cost management across departments.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to improve our decision-making processes and operational efficiency.
• Help identify areas for process optimization within finance workflows and reporting, using technology to increase accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate in the budgeting and forecasting processes to ensure alignment with company goals. Monitor variances and help to adjust forecasts accordingly.
• Work cross-functionally with different departments to provide financial insights and support, contributing to our overall business strategy.
• Communicate and collaborate directly with department leads and provide useful updates to the C-suite.
• Drive key analyses by interpreting financial data and trends, while providing insights to support data-driven decision-making and operational improvements.

Recommended Background

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within a fast-growing company or startup environment.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Experience in quantitative analysis and strategic problem-solving.
• A track record of thinking outside of the box and an eye for impact.
