We're seeking a Firmware Engineer for our Data Center SSD Firmware team to be responsible for exploring architecture, researching new technologies, and conducting proof-of-concept work to turn ideas into reality. Join a team of SSD architecture and firmware experts to innovate and address data center challenges in power, performance, endurance, and overall improvement. Use your extensive knowledge of compute architecture and storage systems to develop the next generation of SSDs, potentially involving the creation and assessment of new algorithms and functionalities. Effective collaboration with system architects to align on new features and specifications is a key aspect of this role
Qualifications & Skills:Solid understanding of SSD architecture, including I/O Data Path, FTL, and NAND management.Hands-on experience in areas such as PCIe, NVMe, ZNS, NAND media management and algorithms, Firmware, SSD FTL, TLC, QLC.Strong understanding of firmware development, verification, system failure analysis, embedded systems design, and real-time embedded systems.Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to find creative solutions to difficult problems.Confirmed skills understanding software engineering principles and experience in developing firmware using assembly and C/C++ programming.Experience in storage fundamentals and storage protocols.Advanced skills in analyzing sophisticated firmware and hardware issues.Consistent record to identify and optimize the performance of critical algorithms.Knowledge of the Agile software development process life cycle.Validated understanding of structured firmware development processes and life cycles.Strong skills in communicating sophisticated technical ideas and concepts.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and communicate effectively (written and verbal) across multiple locations and teams.How to Qualify:
Proven experience, 5+ years, in the design, development, and architecture of enterprise SSD/storage products.A BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience.

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:
$153,000.00 - $260,000.00
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
