We are seeking a Locums Pathology Physician for a hospital-based position in Saginaw, MI. This role involves working in a busy medical facility with a varied diagnostic and procedural workload. The position offers a structured schedule with rotating call responsibilities.
The workweek is Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM. The on-call rotation is weekly, starting at 5 PM on Friday and ending at 8 AM the following Friday. During this period, the pathologist will manage the on-call duties and handle any urgent cases that arise.
The responsibilities of this role include reading approximately 35-50 cases per day. The pathologist will be required to gross their own specimens and cut their own frozen sections using a cryostat. Procedures will encompass hematology, microbiology, chemistry/serology, and blood bank tasks. In addition, the pathologist will conduct a variety of anatomic pathology procedures, including surgical pathology, GI pathology, GU pathology, neuropathology, dermatopathology, hematopathology, and cytology.
Qualifications:
Certification: AP/CP (Anatomic Pathology/Clinical Pathology) certified pathologist required
Experience: Preferred but not mandatory
IMLC: Will consider International Medical Licensing Council (IMLC) certification
