Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.
How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?
Manage projects for the class I, II and class III control system modernization and upgrade program (SIO & Non-SIO) and ancillary controls related projects for Large Industries. Current focus is managing class II & III projects for the control system modernization and upgrade program and ancillary sub projects related to the support and acceleration of key programs.
The perimeter of the Process Control Technology projects (PCT) is Large Industries operations in North America
Execute and Manage Control System modernization and upgrade projects:
SIO & Non-SIO Class I, II and Class III DCS Upgrade projects that vary in size from $250k -> $5 MM
Manage 3rd party contractors to execute control system projects
Actively manage the FAT and SAT of control system projects
Interface with Engineering & Construction to ensure that plants with control system projects are delivered as specified in standards
Work with SMEs to ensure control system design meets applicable standards
Closely manage the application of control system upgrade program standards are incorporated
Ability to work with multiple disciplines (Corporate OT, Electrical, Plant operations, and instrumentation) to ensure complete project coverage for an upgrade
Develop project SOW's and preliminary estimates for project funding
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to read and mark up P&IDs. Ability to perform basic process calculations.
Familiarity with National Electrical code, OSHA, and ISA standards.
General knowledge of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control systems and operation of process equipment utilized in Air Liquide technologies.
Commit to continuous growth and improvement of knowledge through informal and formal training
Project Management Responsibilities:
Experience and proven ability to manage projects with competency in project management tools and techniques such as scope definition, estimating, scheduling / critical path, budgeting, cost control, reporting, design and scope change management.
Utilize project estimates/quotes to create project budget
Track expenses against budget and provide weekly updates to appropriate personnel
Learn and understand the steps of the existing engineering process and apply that understanding to be able to determine and report deviations from the process
Work with Field Sourcing Specialist and Supply Chain Management to coordinate the proposals, delivery of parts and/or services for customers to manage bidding process for all phases of the controls project (SOW development, Detailed Engineering, Configuration and E&I field contracts)
Prepare and submit project reports at intervals suitable to the scope of each project
Continuously improve strategies for managing projects
Utilize industry standard applications for project scheduling and KPI's.
Assist procurement in securing beneficial frame agreements with key 3rd party suppliers.

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline required; Professional Engineer registration desirable. PMP Certified or willing to become certified within 1.5 to 2 years after hire.
8+ years engineering and plant operations support experience required
Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
Ability to effectively work within a diverse, international organization
Basic knowledge of leading industrial DCS systems desired. Knowledge of Emerson DeltaV is beneficial. Familiarity with the latest technology trends in this dynamic field is beneficial
Familiarity of ASU and SMR technology process control beneficial
Basic understanding of industrial IT domain including security and interface protocols
Advanced skills with Google suite of tools (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, etc)
Strong analytical skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Ability to understand, perform, and retain various job-related training, operational, and safety
Ability to work (walkdowns and project execution) in a plant setting that requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Up to 33% domestic travel.
