Job Description

The Virtus Investment Partners Human Resources division is a dynamic group dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce that aligns with our organization’s strategic goals. We operate within a corporate shared service model, where our team collaborates closely with affiliate managers working across various geographic regions as well as close collaboration with colleagues within the HR Center of Excellence operating model. We are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to join our team. The individual will be responsible for providing daily tactical and strategic support regarding people and organizational development strategies in support of our business objectives. This role will partner closely with management teams as well as our HR organization to carry out initiatives within the following functional areas: talent acquisition, employee relations, policy interpretation and application, performance and compensation management consultation; and talent management consultation.

This role will be based in our Hartford, CT office with the ability to travel 25-35% to our New York office and broader NE area affiliates.

Job Duties:

Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Responsible for partnering with the various business teams to support efforts related to performance management and employee relations.

Assist with driving a culture of learning and development.

Responsible for the coordination of HR-related RFP responses and reporting.

Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment.

Work in conjunction with the Virtus talent acquisition team on talent pipelining and recruitment of candidates, ensuring that the company is attracting and retaining top talent.

Leverage data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.

Use insights to make informed recommendations to enhance the HR strategy.

Ideal Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, or an equivalent field.

At least 7-10 years of progressive HR experience in the financial services industry, ideally within investment management with a strong background working with investment professionals on the buy-side.

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and inspire trust and confidence at all levels.

Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.

The ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.

Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity and inclusion, and performance management.

Technical skills including advanced experience with Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel along with the ability to create and deliver presentations.

Strong experience working with HCM systems such as Workday or its equivalent.

Professional certifications in HR (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR,) are a plus.

Ability to travel 25-35% to various affiliate offices as needed.

The starting salary range is $160,000 to $210,000.The starting salary offer will vary based on the applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. This position is also eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.
