We are looking for a talented transactional attorney to support our rapidly growing and evolving Devices & Services business. The attorney will work closely with business development, product, and go-to-market teams as counsel on strategic partnership deals across a variety of products, including Fire TV integration deals with third-party device manufacturers and Appstore distribution deals with major app developers. The attorney will structure, draft, and negotiate a range of agreements, and counsel internal clients on various legal issues related to business operations. They will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways and build processes that address risk and allow the business flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment (including in ambiguous situations).
We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations: Seattle, WA, USA | Los Angeles, CA, USA | San Francisco Bay Area, CA, USA | New York, NY, USA. Some travel, primarily within the United States, may be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent- 5+ years of legal experience- 2+ years of experience drafting and negotiating complex software licenses and other technology transactionsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work- Knowledge of internet, software, and media industries and the legal and regulatory environment in which they operate or equivalent- 4+ years of experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating complex software licensing and other technology transactions in support of product development and launch- Technical background (computer science, electrical or mechanical engineering preferred), with strong knowledge of software and hardware development and design- Ability to work independently while also contributing successfully to cross-functional teams- Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines- Strong communication and analytical skills- Sound judgment, including in ambiguous situations
