This role will partner closely with the Company’s Human Resources function to provide strategic counsel and support, manage employment-related litigation in the United States and Canada, develop and conduct relevant training, and provide other strategic support to proactively mitigate legal risks related to employment practices. The position reports to the role of Corporate Counsel, Global Employment.This role is in our Racine, WI headquartersKEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with Human Resources function to provide strategic legal advice and identify and mitigate legal risks related to employment practices.Track complex regulatory framework and work cross-functionally to ensure compliance.Develop, support, and implement training programs, processes, and best practices for HR and management related to labor and employment laws and other employment law-related topics.Manage employment-related litigation in the United States and Canada.Conduct and support training on relevant employment issues.Assist with investigations.Review involuntary terminations for legal concerns and advise on risk mitigation.Demonstrate strategic thinking about process improvement, efficiency, and skills development for the business at large.Review, manage, and select various outside counsel depending on subject matter and business need.REQUIRED EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
JD degree.Admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. state.7+ years of relevant legal experience in employment and labor law; direct employment litigation in state and federal court and administrative agencies required.4+ years of experience drafting employment policy and employment-related templates.PREFERRED EXPERIENCES AND SKILLS
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performing consumer and professional products company and manage and prioritize a large, complex workload.Strong credibility, judgment, and integrity.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under time constraints.Extensive experience with U.S. employment regulations.Excellent oral/written communication skills, including the ability to convey and discuss employment law issues in understandable terms.JOB REQUIREMENTS
