And that small details yield important realizations. Above all, we believe that collaboration is the best way forwardHDR is looking for a Project Manager to join our Aviation program in Colorado. Primary duties will include marketing, planning, directing, and monitoring all aspects of multi-discipline airport projects with high degrees of technical complexity, typically in excess of $2 million and involving managing project staff. Other duties may include, but are not limited to:Acting as a primary point of contact for airport related projects primarily in Colorado area and in other regional markets as needed.Serving as the Client Manager for selected key clients within the area and be active and visible in the industry.Participating and serving as a company role-model and technical leader within industry associations.Developing and reviewing proposals and participating in interviews and client presentations as applicable.Leading project teams involved with the production and coordination of several projects concurrently.Establishing client relations and being involved with marketing, contractual, design, and production meetings.Conducting design development and contract document work sessions at project sites in conjunction with clients, stakeholders, project managers, subcontractors, appropriate technical professionals, and other disciplines.Managing staffing and workload through the entire project's development to complete documents within the contracted budget and schedule requirements.Responsible for implementing QA/QC procedures, and for the execution of training for personnel as established by strategic plans.Monitoring projects for client-initiated changes and determining if changes require modification of contracts as needed for additional time or budget.Supervising project staff members and act as a mentor for less experienced staff members.Managing services during construction efforts on active construction projects including the review of submittals and RFIs as needed.Serving as a subject matter expert on construction projects to assist in resolving unforeseen site conditions or other issues encountered during construction as needed.
Required QualificationsBS in Civil Engineering or related discipline is required.MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline a plus.PE required.Minimum of 7 years of aviation-related engineering experience required; this must include 2 years of project management experience.Familiarity with FAA Advisory Circulars and aviation design standards.Experience working in and leading multi-disciplinary teams.Experience working on and leading large aviation projects.Experience with asphalt and concrete pavements.MS Office experience is required. AutoCAD/Civil3D experience a plus.Demonstrated business development and strategic planning skills.Good communication, leadership, planning and mentoring skills.A commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.Local candidates preferred.
