Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Early Childhood Education or related field and a minimum of 2 years of experience working with children
Must be able to obtain all clearances (Act 151, Act 34, Act 114, and NSOR Verification.)
General Description: The Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children within the center's care. The Director is directly accountable for overall operational management in accordance with guidelines outlined by the Department of Human Services (DHS), Keystone STARS, and CCCDC, including curriculum development, and staff and facility management. The Director ensures that the needs of the children and the goals of the center are met appropriately.
Responsibilities:
Supervise all record keeping and requirements for CCCDC, Department of Human Services (DHS), and Keystone STARSSupervise current staff, mentor, coach, and support new staff, and complete all new staff evaluationsSupervise work study students, volunteers, etc.Supervision of childrenCreate staff and child schedules and approve payrollMaintain proper child:staff ratiosAssisting and prepping for meals (breakfast, lunch, and snack.)Keep Professional Development Registry current and oversee and ensure that all staff are meeting Professional Development requirementsAttend required Professional Development Trainings, appropriate safety trainings (Mandated Reporter, Fire Safety, Pediatric First Aid, and Water Safety)Attend monthly Director's Meetings and staff meetings, as well as hold monthly staff meetings for home siteBe a positive and professional role model for employees, children, and familiesMaintain respectful communication with parents/guardians and participate in Parent/Teacher Conferences when neededRespect confidentiality of staff and family informationSupport decisions made by the Board of DirectorsDisseminate all appropriate information to the staff in a positive and decisive mannerPerform written evaluations of staff (Minimum of 3x per year)Ensure lesson plans are completed and reviewed in a timely manner
