From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection.Job DescriptionThe Lead Consultant represents insured and the Company in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation, and Allstate Financial cases. The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key ResponsibilitiesConducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents.Prepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses.Keeps claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.).Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions.Reviews new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approves initial pleadings, propounds discovery, and/or develops strategy.Investigates and pursues subrogation litigation as appropriate.Drafts post-trial motions.Tries and/or arbitrates cases by preparing motions, motions in limine and summary documents in limine.Conducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.).Education4 year Bachelor's Degree (Required).Juris Doctor (Required).Experience5 or more years of experience (Preferred).Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job does not have supervisory duties.Must be licensed to practice in the state of Texas.Must be in good standing with the Texas State Bar.Position is home based.Required to go to court in person as needed in and around the Houston, TX area.SkillsArbitration, Court Appearances, Customer Centricity, Depositions, Digital Literacy, Documentation Review, Evidence Gathering, Examinations Under Oath, Inclusive Leadership, Learning Agility, Legal Consulting, Legal Document Preparation, Legal Pleadings, Legal Research, Legal Writing, Litigation, Mediation, Results-Oriented, Stakeholder Relationship Management, Torts.CompensationCompensation offered for this role is $85,600.00 - 152,650.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.Joining our team isn't just a job - it's an opportunity.
