The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key ResponsibilitiesConducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documents.Prepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnesses.Keep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.).Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questions.Review new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategy.Investigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriate.Draft post-trial motions.Try and/or arbitrate cases by preparing motions, motions in limine and summary documents in limine.Conducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.).Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.).Education4 year Bachelors Degree (Required).Juris Doctor (Required).Experience5 or more years of experience (Preferred).Must have be State Bar Licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis job does not have supervisory duties.Remote work from home role.
