Department OverviewThe Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics has an immediate opening for a full-time (1.0 FTE) clinical genetic counselor specializing in cancer genetics. The selected candidate will primarily be involved in adult cancer genetic counseling services at our NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The counselor may also participate in additional specialty clinics, including pediatric oncology genetics and general pediatric genetics. Genetics consults are conducted both in-person and via telehealth. The counselor will be responsible for overall coordination of patient care including intake, assessment, counseling, test coordination, and follow-up. In addition to direct patient care, our clinical genetic counselors serve a primary role in education to medical trainees, genetic counseling students, and other healthcare providers.
