Government Contracts AssociateSteptoe, LLP, seeks a junior associate with government contracts and regulatory experience to join our growing Government Contracts practice group in our Washington, DC office.Candidates—including law clerks from the Court of Federal Claims or military lawyers (i.e., JAGs)—ideally should have at least 1 year of government contracts and regulatory experience, or a demonstrated interest in the industry.Steptoe's expanding government contracts team has significant experience in government contracts law from formation to negotiation to performance. They regularly represent government contractors in the defense, life sciences, construction, and healthcare industries in bid protests before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Government Accountability Office, the Small Business Administration, federal agencies, and in disputes involving contracts, fraud, construction-related claims, and intellectual property pending in federal courts and state courts across the nation. Clients come to Steptoe for assistance in complying with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and federal agency acquisition supplements, with all aspects of federal procurement law, and with structuring and managing internal investigations in matters involving internal controls violations and procurement fraud, including False Claims Act (FCA) allegations.The group offers excellent prospects for a proactive lawyer, offering career growth and diversification prospects, and regular collaboration with all members of the team. Candidates must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, a track record of insightful research and analysis, and persuasive writing abilities. We are looking for candidates who can and want to assume immediate responsibility and who are willing to work as an integral part of a high-performing and collaborative team. Steptoe offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits in a collegial working environment that provides training and mentorship. The anticipated salary for this position is $225,000 - $250,000.A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school is required.
