The RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced lawyer to join our Banking & Finance team in New York. This is a newly created role intended to support our Banking & Finance team by providing practice support, knowledge management, horizon scanning, thought leadership and training.Key Responsibilities:Practice Support:Provide precedent and resource recommendations, legal research, and guidance on a wide variety of banking and finance mattersCoordinate with the firm’s opinion committee to update and maintain the legal opinion templateFacilitate access to the firm’s resources and services, including recommending lawyers with relevant expertise in other groups or officesKnowledge Management:Collect, curate, and make easily accessible a collection of precedents, templates, checklists, and other know-how materials relevant to banking and finance mattersCollaborate with lawyers across the firm’s network on firm-wide knowledge management initiativesHorizon Scanning:Regularly follow key information sources to identify relevant litigation, regulatory, and market developments, trends, risks, and best practicesProvide relevant updates to the group periodically and on an ad hoc basis via newsletters, emails, and team meetingsThought Leadership:Produce client briefings, blog posts, conference presentations, and other types of thought leadership pieces to provide valuable resources to our clients and enhance the firm’s reputationSupport business development and marketing initiatives by contributing substantive content to external newsletters or as part of pitchesTraining:Organize and deliver training on a range of relevant topics and developments, both internally and to clientsCoordinate applications for NY CLE credit and ensure related requirements are metProvide tailored training to new joiners and curate accessible training opportunities and resources relevant to banking and finance mattersQualifications
Qualifications:The ideal applicant will possess the following qualifications:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited US law schoolAdmitted to the New York BarAt least six years of experience practicing law, with a focus on bank finance or restructuring of debt productsStrong legal research and analytical skillsAbility to create, manage, and update legal precedents, templates, and other knowledge resourcesExperienced in organizing and producing training sessions, briefing and presentation for lawyers and clients on a broad range of legal topicsOther preferred skills and competencies include:Must be proactive and self-motivatedAbility to identify team needs and develop plans or strategies to address such needsStrong interpersonal skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and presentation skillsAble to work independently as well as collaboratively with other professionalsSubmissions must include a resume and law school transcript(s).Clifford Chance US LLP offers a comprehensive benefits and compensation package. The salary range for this role is $225K-$250K. Actual salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.Additional Information
