Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in Portland, OR, is seeking a full-time Litigation Associate to join its experienced civil litigation defense team. This role involves handling a variety of legal matters with a focus on construction defect and casualty claims. The position offers a hybrid work model, providing flexibility for remote work with occasional on-site responsibilities for those living within commuting distance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of litigation, including case preparation, court appearances, and client advisement.Duties:Draft and file motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.Represent clients in trials, arbitrations, depositions, and mediations.Provide expert legal advice and case updates to clients and their insurers.Oversee day-to-day litigation tasks, ensuring cases progress efficiently.Prepare for trial, including witness examinations and courtroom representation.Requirements:Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and law.Proven experience in drafting and arguing motions.Ability to navigate court systems effectively and efficiently.Experience in trial preparation and courtroom advocacy.Skilled in conducting depositions and witness examinations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.Active member of the Oregon State Bar.Experience with construction defect or casualty claims is preferred.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Admission to the Oregon State Bar (required).Skills:Expertise in civil litigation and case management.Proficiency in legal research, writing, and trial preparation.Excellent communication and client management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing deadlines.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
