Job Overview:
A well-established intellectual property law firm is seeking a Patent Agent with 2-3 years of patent prosecution experience. This position offers the opportunity to work on a fast-paced patent docket in a variety of technologies while contributing to intellectual property solutions for clients globally. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering. Remote work options are available for those not residing in the Washington, DC area.Duties:Handle patent prosecution matters across various technology sectors.Conduct thorough reviews of patent applications, responding to office actions, and providing technical and legal advice to clients.Collaborate with attorneys and inventors to draft and file patent applications.Conduct legal and technical research related to intellectual property matters.Stay up to date on the latest developments in intellectual property law and relevant technologies.Assist clients in managing their intellectual property portfolios and strategies.Communicate effectively with clients to understand their patent needs and offer tailored solutions.Requirements:2-3 years of patent prosecution experience.Strong technical background in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.Experience with drafting and prosecuting patent applications.Ability to manage multiple cases and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with clients and team members.Education:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering.Certifications:Must be a registered Patent Agent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Skills:Proficiency in patent prosecution and patent law.Strong research, analytical, and technical writing skills.Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach with the team.Familiarity with patent management software and tools.
