Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Patent Attorney with a minimum of 1 year of patent prosecution experience in various technical fields, including electrical, electro-mechanical, semiconductor, material science, chemical, and optics arts. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Optics, or a related field. The position involves the preparation and prosecution of U.S. patent applications, as well as providing opinions and counseling.Duties:Prepare and prosecute U.S. patent applications in electrical, electro-mechanical, semiconductor, material science, chemical, and optics arts.Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate searches.Provide legal opinions regarding patent validity, infringement, and clearance.Draft legal opinions, memoranda, and correspondence relating to patent matters.Communicate effectively with clients, patent examiners, and other attorneys.Requirements:Minimum of 1 year of patent prosecution experience.Experience in electrical, electro-mechanical, semiconductor, material science, chemical, or optics arts preferred.Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Strong understanding of patent law and related regulations.Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.A bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, physics, materials science, optics, or a related field is preferred.Certifications:Admission to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).Skills:Proficiency in conducting patentability and freedom-to-operate searches.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.Familiarity with patent prosecution software and databases.Knowledge of intellectual property litigation procedures is a plus.
