General Description:
With minimal supervision the Senior Consultant is heavily involved in all aspects of the conversion of new business, provides overall recordkeeping and consulting services for more complex plans, and demonstrates leadership in handling client relation issues.
Responsibilities:
Participate in the conversion of new business and coordinate transition of assets and participant records; participate in transition meetings/calls; correspond with client & payroll vendor to ensure proper setup of payroll data feeds; communicate with prior recordkeeper; coordinate with post sales department to ensure all documentation is completed in a timely manner for account/plan setup and enrollment meetings.
Responsible for all aspects of recordkeeping for complex client plans including:
work with Administrator to process distribution and loan requests within 7-10 business days of receipt
initiate/process trades
process payroll data files & respond to client within 48 hours of receipt
reconcile asset balances (trust and participant accounts)
post earnings as necessary & run/monitor “unposted” report
ensure compliance with plan document & IRS/DOL regulations
participate in peer review process
Accurate and timely recording of transactions and work logs.
Produce quarterly valuation package (client reports and participant statements) according to USICG standards, including:
ensure valuation checklist is complete and peer review is done according to SAS70 standards
resolve any outstanding valuation issues within current quarter
prepare meaningful executive summary letter – highlight current issues
prepare extracts for plans with Riggs as Trustee
Correspond with clients, Team Leaders & Account Managers to help manage relationships and respond to issues, including researching questions and plan document provisions, consulting on more complex plan design issues, assisting with billing issues, confirming transactions, etc. Respond to all calls within 4 business hours.
Provide training for newer employees on DC department procedures, systems, etc. as well as IRS/DOL regulations (expected to have working knowledge) – includes attendance of seminars, etc to assist in training the department
Create and provide peer review for IRS Form 5500/SAR/1099R tax packages in a timely manner.
Prepare compliance tests appropriate to assigned plans, develop corrective action steps if tests fail, prepare reports for client and participate in peer review; assist other team members with more complex testing issues.
Process plan-level fees per service agreement (basis points, loan fees, etc.); identify projects requiring additional billing and report them monthly on Special Billings Projects worksheets.
Act as a peer mentor and provide input for performance reviews.
Complete special projects as requested by clients or DC department
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Mathematics, Business, Finance or Accounting
5 + years related business experience
ASPA PA-1 preferred
Strong computer skills- Knowledge of Windows environment, including Word & Excel
Excellent mathematical aptitude. Detailed and organized. Able to multi-task.
Ability to meet all client deliverables requiring extended working hours during peak work periods
Excellent communication, accounting and interpersonal skills
Ability to creatively and proactively problem-solve
Ability to stay organized and focused in a busy environment
