Summary of Position
The Legal Specialist is responsible for preparing case files for court hearings, entering court depositions including order entry, and completing actions on referrals from Staff Attorneys for court follow-up actions. This individual represents YoungWilliams and the State Agency by providing outstanding customer service and accurate follow-through actions for all inquiries and referrals.Essential Job Requirements
Interface between the Establishment, Enforcement and Interstate Case Managers, other attorneys, Clerk of the District Court and Sheriff's Department to facilitate efficient court activity and legal case management.Contact necessary parties as needed for court activity.Generate all legal pleadings.Assist attorneys with case management to ensure timely and proper case progression.Ensure that the necessary federal and state elements are included in all legal filings.Schedule hearings for attorneys.Assist attorney in court when needed.Provide customer service to child support staff and the community.Perform data entry in the state system as needed.Perform miscellaneous duties related to general case handling in all aspects of the legal system.Regular and timely attendance.Other duties as assigned.Required Education
Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate is required.Required Skills
Excellent organizational, written, interpersonal and verbal communication skills.Ability to execute many complex tasks simultaneously.Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and make independent decisions.Knowledge of federal and state child support policies and procedures.Ability to provide positive interaction with customers and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
