A law firm seeks a highly experienced attorney to join its Employment Litigation team as Of Counsel in Silicon Valley, CA. The successful candidate will provide legal guidance and defense for employers in a variety of workplace matters, including investigations, administrative charges, and lawsuits in both state and federal courts. The role requires expertise in employment law, including advising on workplace disputes and representing employers in litigation, arbitration, and mediation.Duties
Provide legal counsel and defense for employers in employment-related claims, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour violations, and breach of contract cases.Represent employers before administrative agencies, in court, at arbitrations, and during mediations.Handle agency charges and lawsuits with a broad scope of employment issues, ensuring a strategic and comprehensive approach to litigation.Collaborate with the litigation team on complex cases, offering legal strategies and solutions.Conduct investigations and provide legal advice regarding workplace matters, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws.Manage document-intensive cases and effectively handle large volumes of casework.Experience with class actions and PAGA (Private Attorneys General Act) cases is preferred but not required.Requirements
9+ years of legal experience, preferably in employment litigation.In-depth knowledge of employment law and defense strategies in workplace-related litigation.Experience with federal and state employment laws, including anti-discrimination laws and wage and hour regulations.Strong case management skills, including the ability to handle multiple complex cases simultaneously.Demonstrated ability to independently produce high-quality legal work and counsel clients effectively.Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail in managing documents and case files.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications
Active California Bar admission in good standing.Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with a focus on persuasive legal arguments.Strong organizational and case management skills, capable of handling numerous cases at once.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.Experience in class actions or PAGA litigation is a plus, though not required.Location
