Position Summary
Washington Regional Medical System, Northwest Arkansas' only locally owned, locally governed, not-for-profit hospital and health system is seeking a dialysis based Advanced Practice Provider to join our Washington Regional Renal Specialists of Northwest Arkansas Clinic. Renal Specialists of NWA is comprised of 6 Nephrologists and 3 Advanced Practice Providers.
Essential Position Responsibilities
* Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses* Order and perform diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests* Determine, plan, and provide appropriate treatment* Prescribe and dispense medications* Document and maintain electronic medical records* Educate and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors* Request consultation or referral with other health care providers* Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects* Travel to dialysis units within northwest Arkansas
Qualifications
* Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited Adult/Gerontology Primary Care or Family Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program* Licensure and Certifications: Advanced Practice Provider license, BLS, and national certification required* Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in a previous clinical role required. Previous experience in Nephrology preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
