Position Summary

The role of the Physician Assistant and/or Nurse Practitioner Registered Nurse reports to the Washington Regional Senior Health Clinic Manager in partnership with the Clinic Physician. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care and assisting physicians with procedures. The physician/provider team is made up of 8 mid-level providers, 5 physicians and 2 clinical psychologists.

Essential Position Responsibilities

* Perform physical examinations of patients to evaluate health and diagnose illnesses* Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests* Determine, plan, and provide appropriate treatment* Prescribe and manage medications* Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment plans* Document and maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records* Educate and counsel patients and families on presenting health problems, treatment plans, and home care, and encourage and promote preventative health care and positive health behaviors* Request consultation or referral with other health care providers* Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends, and support research projects

Qualifications

* Education: Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program* Licensure and Certifications: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant License and CPR, required. National certification, required* Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a previous clinical nursing role, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
