The Senior Application Analyst is a position in the Oracle Acquisition team. This team is responsible for implementing Oracle EBS and related systems, to fulfill acquisition integration requirements.
The Senior Application Analyst – Supply Chain has ownership of the Oracle EBS modules and related applications in the Supply Chain track. This position works closely with the project management office and leads all phases of the implementation process. The role manages change requests identified, working with the project management office and stakeholders to obtain approvals. Establishes standard work and ensures adherence to best practices. Works closely with other acquisition track leads on cross track business processes. This role provides functional and technical expertise in the areas of responsibility and understands interdependencies of data and process. The role works with software vendor support to resolve issues in functionality.
The position works closely with technical teams in the design and development of software solutions based on functional requirements. Provides functional specifications, testing scenarios and completes functional unit testing. This includes development of reports, alerts, workflows, interfaces and data conversion programs.
The position stays up to date with changes in technology, changes and upgrades to Oracle Applications.
What You'll do as a Senior Applications Analyst:
Project Leadership and Management - 50%
Partners with project manager in executing and delivering according to the project plan
Acts as a liaison between business teams and development team.
Serves as business analyst and project lead for the area of responsibility.
Identifies business process gaps and differences between acquisition and STERIS
Manages change requests process
Provides daily and weekly status reports
Coordinates with technical teams for development and delivery of software objects
Provides input to cut over plan
Establishes standard work and ensures adherence to best practices
Design, Develop and Configure Systems – 25%
Participates in discovery meetings and site visits
Schedules and conducts design sessions for area of responsibility
Documents user requirements
Prepares functional design documents
Prepares configuration documentation (BR100)
Works with acquisition data teams on data conversion templates
Works with boundary application owners to design and develop interfaces
Prepares and performs data reconciliation and validation
Configures Oracle environments for mock, integration, user acceptance testing and production
Researches, evaluates and recommends software and hardware solutions
Performs testing and evaluation, including proof of concepts and demos of new functionality
Interfaces with software vendors to facilitate the purchase of services, software and hardware
Works with software vendor support teams to research and resolve issues
Works with DBA and SA teams to implement changes and fixes in all environments
Works on System Change Requests (SCRs)
Works on Footprints Tickets and Requests
Technical Support, System Administration and Maintenance - 25%
Maintains standardization and documentation of technology and processes.
Develops and implements training plans to support applications as required.
Provides technical support and maintenance of I.T. systems.
Troubleshoots and resolves problems with system configurations and hardware.
Provides escalation support for System Administrators.
The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed:
7+ years experience in
Oracle
Applications modules in one of the major functional areas
7+ years experience in
Oracle Applications
environment – Application Object Library, Concurrent Programs, Alerts, Workflows
5+ years experience in interfaces with other applications using Web Services, APIs, flat file transfers or database links. Experience in the use of Middleware will be preferred.
7+ years experience in full life cycle implementation of Oracle Applications or upgrades
7+ years experience in designing and developing custom applications in the Oracle Applications environment
Strong professional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with little supervision and within changing priorities.
Ability to analyze requirements and troubleshoot problems.
Strong business acumen and deep understanding of business processes
Strong presentation, and conflict management skills
Experience mentoring and reviewing the work of functional team members.
Ability to work in a matrix team environment with both internal and 3rd party development teams (onshore / offshore).
