Job Title: Family Law Trial Attorney (Hybrid)Job Overview:A prestigious law firm based in Suitland, MD, is seeking a skilled and motivated Family Law Trial Attorney. This role focuses on managing complex family law litigation, particularly cases that involve military divorce, pensions, and benefits. The attorney will work closely with a diverse legal team and military consultants to provide clients with expert legal counsel in family law matters.Duties:Conduct client intake and assess legal needs, focusing on military-related family law cases.Develop and implement personalized legal strategies addressing complex jurisdictional issues.Manage a full docket of family law cases including divorce, custody, child support, and alimony.Collaborate with military consultants to handle military-specific legal matters.Oversee discovery processes, manage depositions, and prepare for hearings and trials.Engage in settlement negotiations, mediation, and pre-trial conferences.Serve as lead attorney in family law trials and hearings, presenting evidence and arguing cases.Handle post-judgment actions, including modifications, enforcement, and appeals.Collaborate with legal teams, participate in case reviews, and contribute to the firm's knowledge-sharing initiatives.Requirements:Licensed to practice law in Maryland (D.C. or Virginia licenses are a plus).Minimum of 3+ years of family law trial experience, ideally involving military divorce and related legal matters.Ability to manage a full caseload independently and serve as the first chair in trials.Strong client-service focus with a commitment to delivering high-quality legal representation.Capability to meet a billable hour requirement of 1500 hours per year.Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:Licensed to practice law in Maryland (additional certifications for Washington D.C. or Virginia are beneficial).Skills:Strong legal research and analytical skills.Proficient in trial preparation and litigation.Excellent negotiation and mediation skills.Ability to handle complex legal issues related to military divorce and family law.Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client interactions.Capable of working collaboratively with a legal team and consultants.Job Location:Suitland, MDCompany infoBCG Attorney Search1629 K ST NW, Suite 300WashingtonDistrict of ColumbiaUnited States 20006Phone :
