A reputable law firm is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney to provide high-quality legal services to a diverse client base. The ideal candidate will possess strong research and writing skills, handle a significant caseload with minimal supervision, and effectively utilize legal software. This role involves court appearances, client counseling, and collaboration with a dedicated legal team to ensure successful case outcomes.Location
Duties
Provide legal counsel by analyzing client needs and determining appropriate courses of action.Represent clients in court, including arguing motions and handling legal proceedings.Prepare legal documents, including briefs, motions, pleadings, and client correspondence.Oversee and coordinate with paralegals, law clerks, and administrative staff.Identify conflicts and develop case strategies with options for resolution.Conduct thorough legal research and draft necessary motions, pleadings, and briefs.Requirements
Ability to manage a heavy caseload with minimal supervision.Active membership in the local bar association preferred.Strong knowledge of legal research tools, such as Westlaw and Lexis.Proficient in decision-making, public speaking, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication.Minimum of 3 years of experience representing clients in criminal defense cases.Demonstrated experience with at least 20 preliminary hearings, 5 felony trials, and 10 misdemeanor jury trials.Education
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications
Active state bar membership.Skills
