Job Overview:A prominent law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Associate to join its team in Los Angeles. This is an excellent opportunity for a team-oriented attorney with at least 1 year of civil litigation defense experience in California. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and communication skills, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse environment. Duties:
Analyze and assess case value to aid in early resolution.Develop and execute comprehensive litigation plans for all phases of the litigation process.Assist senior attorneys in handling various types of civil litigation cases.Conduct legal research on relevant issues throughout the litigation process.Maintain communication with clients, insurance carriers, and opposing counsel.Conduct fact investigations and implement discovery and investigation strategies.Attend and represent clients at depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.Draft legal documents, including meet and confer letters, dispositive motions, and trial preparation materials.Prepare clients for depositions and other applicable hearings.Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.Requirements:
Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to and in good standing with the California State Bar.Minimum of 1 year of civil litigation defense experience in California.Strong legal research and analytical skills.Excellent time management and communication skills.Experience with task code and insurance billing guidelines (preferred).Knowledge of Labor & Employment law is a plus.Education:
Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.Certifications:
Admission to the California State Bar (required).Skills:
Strong research and analytical abilities.Effective time management and organizational skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
