Mississippi College is seeking qualified applicants for the position Program Principal Faculty, Department of Physician Assistant Studies.
THE PROGRAM
The Physician Assistant Program at Mississippi College is a 30-month program of study leading to a Master of Science in Medicine degree. The maximum class size is 36. The primary mission of the Mississippi College Physician Assistant Program is to educate and train students to provide high-quality medical care for the people of Mississippi and the nation as members of the healthcare team. We enjoy a collaborative relationship with the University of Mississippi Medical School. We are home to a modern medical education facility, a state-of-the-art cadaver lab, and a new medical simulation center. We also prepare our students for service at international clinical rotation sites, if desired.
THE POSITION
Candidates should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A minimum of three years of clinical experience and additional years of academic (or health-related teaching and/or administrative experience) is required. Minimum requirements also include current or emeritus NCCPA certification and a Master's or Doctorate degree in a relevant field. All employees of Mississippi College must be of the Christian faith.
The candidate should also possess a commitment to continued professional development and scholarly work. Very importantly, the culture of our program strives to keep a healthy family-work balance! QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in PA studies required* Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program or currently licensed allopathic or osteopathic physician* If a PA, have current or Emeritus NCCPA certification status* Doctorate in a related field preferred* Three years of clinical experience required* Additional years of academic (or health-related teaching and/or administrative) experience preferred* Have demonstrable academic leadership, motivational skills, and the ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty, administration, and community professionals* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Firm commitment to the mission and vision of Mississippi College
