Job Description:
The Urgent Care Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) works independently to provide care to all Urgent Care patients and collaboratively with the Hospital Emergency Physicians to deliver appropriate medical care in the Urgent Care environment. The focus of the job includes providing comprehensive medical evaluation and management. The PA/NP provides comprehensive assessment, ordering, conducting and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosis, and prescription of pharmacologic agents and treatments of Urgent Care patients. The PA/NP will coordinate all referrals including surgical, internal medicine, cardiac, and pulmonary. Duties may include assistance to the emergency room if necessary.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Provides Comprehensive medical evaluations for Urgent Care.
Provides direct patient care as over seen by Supervising Physician.Coordinates outside consults for Surgical, Internal Medicine Cardiac, Pulmonary, etc.Orders and evaluates pertinent diagnostic exams.Interprets diagnostic studies and communicates with RadiologistCommunicates findings with emergency physicians
2. Participates in Hospital QAPI
Contributes to Urgent Care QAPI process
3. Training and organization of Urgent Care staff
Assist with all staff training regarding triage, procedures, splinting, and any training necessary to enhance staff abilities.Upholds medical standards and assists in educating all staff.Ensures staff is aware of supply usage and procedures needing to be performed.
Minimum Requirements:
Education: Masters prepared graduate of an accredited NP or PA program
Certification, Licensure: CNP, ANP, FNP or PA
Experience, Training, Knowledge: 5 to 6 years relevant experience and/or training. BLS, and ACLS
Wage Scale: $48.75-$70.60
Physical Requirements:
This position requires lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling up to ten (10)+ pounds. Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, handling, and balancing five (5) or more hours per day. Sensory and communicative activities including: hearing, seeing, and speaking to be able to carry out essential job functions.
Working Conditions/Environmental Exposures:
Normal office environment. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are taken. Protective clothing/equipment normally not necessary.

Hepatitis B- Lab evidence of immunity to Hepatitis B or three doses Hep B vaccine at appropriate intervals
Influenza- mandatory from November 1st through March 31st each year
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella - Lab evidence of immunity to Measles, Mumps, and Rubella or 2 doses of MMR Vaccination
Varicella (chickenpox) - Lab evidence of immunity to Varicella or 2 doses of Varicella Vaccine
Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis (Tdap) - documented proof of immunization
Tuberculosis Screening- All new-hires undergo a two-step TB skin test
