Job Description

NO CDL REQUIRED

I.

Purpose

Transport and change containers of resin as needed for the film making process in the Extrusion Department as well as locate trailers at dock as needed.

II.

Duties

Task 1: Transport ContainersUsing a shuttle truck move containers of pellets in and out of docks or around property for storing.Driving shuttle truck locally offsite when necessaryTaking scrap to local vendor for processingCount and document resin inventory (daily/monthly) in silos, on tracks and within departmentHook-up truck to containers to move. (Surface may be greasy and slippery.)Request movement of railcars containing resin by Railroad when necessary (movement for empty or full hopper railcars).Assist with locating resin hopper trucks for unloading of resin when necessary.Task 2: Change Containers

Use a pry bar to open valve and completely empty valves into the compartment.Hook-up hose on opposite side.Lock vents with a sledge hammer.Place hose adapter on tube and hook-up hose. (Required force to lock cap is 62.5 pounds. Average time to empty a container is 1.5-2 hours. Hopper Car takes a total of 6 hours to empty. There are 6 covered hopper cars at the docking station at one time. Each covered hopper car has 4 compartments with material in each.)Clean up all material spills immediately.Monitor resin pumping pressure gauges during pumping.Monitor unloading of railroad / resin hopper trucks during transfer.Walk from truck garage to covered containers to complete change.Task 3: Visual Inspection of Car Upon Arrival

Climb steps to metal platform. (Utilize 4-rung ladder to reach steps.)Inspect car from top to bottom for any vandalism or open vents. (No one may climb on top of the rail car.)Task 4: Maintenance/ Inspections

Check silos 2-3 times per month. (Climb ladder to roof access and top of silo.)Visually inspect silo hoses for leaks twice a day.Report any holes to the Supervisor immediately, so they could patch pipes as needed.Clear snow from truck garage to containers with snow blower.Inspect rail and grease twice per month.Note any mechanical issues with Shuttle Truck with supervisor.Note any mechanical / electrical issues with the resin handling system with supervisor.Vacuum dust / resin on concrete pads by silos and inside of silos as needed.Shovel / Sweep / Vacuum all resin leaks to insure safe walking, and a safe environment.III.

Responsibility

Safety is top priority.Maintain cleanliness in the rail and storage areas.Comply with all AIB, Safety, and Company policies.Participate and attend on-site employee meetings.Regular attendance is required.Work all shifts.Be willing to work overtime as the need arises.Observe all PPE requirements.Provide back-up to Material Handlers and Shippers as needed according to the progression chart outlined in the current CBAOur Expectations
