Job Summary:

The Logistics Planner is responsible for executing and optimizing transport solutions, considering cost, service (lead time requirements), and other planning parameters. This role involves utilizing various transportation software systems to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling, while preparing logistics schedules to ensure timely deliveries.

Key Responsibilities:Execute and optimize transport solutions based on cost, service requirements, and planning parameters.Utilize transportation software systems to facilitate material movement and scheduling; understand different planning techniques, including load planning tools.Prepare and update weekly logistics schedules to ensure on-time deliveries to customer locations and coordinate product pickups with suppliers.Track and trace cargo in transit until proof of delivery (POD).Communicate shipment status to Logistics, Product Lines, and Sales organizations as required.Collaborate with transport service providers to ensure efficient and effective execution of processes; assist in obtaining necessary transport permits and codes, and prepare proper transportation paperwork.Support the development and implementation of improved logistics processes and systems.Interact with the Customer Service team for optimum load selection and communicate any potential issues affecting pickup and/or delivery.Establish route guidelines and work on the rationalization of carriers.Collaborate with sourcing on pricing for high-volume lanes.Receive and audit freight invoices; monitor carrier scorecards.Proactively engage with internal and external customers to address concerns and complaints related to poor performance in scheduling or quality of service.Understand evolving business and market dynamics to ensure logistics routing solutions effectively support customer needs.Manage freight claims and coordinate last-mile deliveries for air freight and ocean shipments.Required Qualifications

:

Advanced desktop computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.Experience in production scheduling, distribution, materials, and inventory planning is a plus.Knowledge of local transport markets, including equipment, port and airport operations, and relevant restrictions and regulations.Understanding of carrier operating models.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple time-sensitive tasks in a dynamic environment.Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Experience working with advanced Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and JD Edwards (JDE) preferred.Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and flexibility in working different shifts.Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations is a plus.Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers.
