Neighborhood Healthcare PACE is a managed medical plan built around surrounding participants with a team of physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists and care coordinators to help them maintain good health and a good quality of life. Our goal is to keep our seniors happy and healthy at home surrounded by their family and community.
As a private, non-profit 501(C) (3) community health organization, we serve over 500k medical, dental, and behavioral health visits from more than 90k people annually. With two PACE centers located in Riverside County, our PACE program is positioned to serve over 650 senior participants.
ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE
The Food Transportation Driver is primarily responsible for providing safe transport and delivering prepared food for the program participants, from the Riverside PACE center to the Murrieta PACE site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Transport food from one site to the other in a timely and competent mannerOperates equipment safely and in compliance with vehicle licensing regulationsFollows established schedules and makes necessary adjustments to meet unanticipated changes; determines the safest and most efficient delivery routesInspects and loads food carts in a safe and efficient manner, secures them properly for safe transport and deliveryInspects and ensures vehicle is maintained to a clean and safe condition and gas tank filled daily; notifies appropriate supervisor of maintenance or repairs neededMaintains standard records, (e.g., logs of deliveries and miles driven, service records, gasoline purchases)Follows all safety guidelines and standards; attends safety in-services and offer guidance or assistance to staff working in an unsafe mannerReports accidents and incidents to supervisor immediatelyDelivers medications and other supplies to participants, when time permitsFollows proper infection control procedures and maintain supply of emergency clean up kitsEDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
High school diploma/GED preferredValid CA Class C driver’s license requiredWorking with elderly preferredClean driving record (free from major infractions including, but not limited to, DUI, negligent, reckless, or excessive minor infractions and convictions) requiredSuccessful completion of defensive drivingValid BLS certification in accordance with the American Heart Association Guidelines required upon hireADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
Demonstrated ability to safely operate a lift ramp in van or vehicle.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including superior composition, typing and proofreading skills.Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent planning and organizational abilityAbility to work as part of a team as well as independentlyAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical Requirements
Ability to lift or push 40 lbs.Ability to stand or sit for long periods of timeCOMPLIANCE (Safety & HIPPA)
Follow all safety procedures as outlined in Neighborhood Healthcare’s Illness and Injury Prevention Plan (IIPP) and report any injuries and/or unsafe conditions immediatelyMaintain current knowledge of policies and procedures as they relate to safe work practicesFollow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditionsUse appropriate body mechanics to ensure an injury free environmentBe familiar with location of nearest fire extinguisher and emergency exitsFollow all infection control procedures including blood-borne pathogen protocolsMaintain privacy of all participants, employee and volunteer information and access such information only on a need-to-know basis for business purposesComply with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligationsReport all behavior and/or activity that are unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful
Neighborhood Healthcare offers a generous benefit plan that includes: Partially company paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Plans. Two plus weeks of vacation, Nine Holidays including two Floating Holidays of your choosing, Sick/Personal time, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), 403b Retirement plan (similar to a 401k), optional Health and Wellness events, and much more!
Pay range: $22.45 - $28.12 an hour, depending on experience.
