The Advanced Aquatics Director provides overall direction, coordination, and success of YMCA Pool operations. What Qualifications You'll Need:
Bachelor's degree in related field. 2+ years' experience in fitness, retail, recreation management or hospitality industries. 2+ years' experience supervising and managing required. Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns. Exhibit strong leadership skills; possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence. Upon hire, you'll be required to pursue American Red Cross Lifeguard certification as well as YMCA swim lesson instructor certification. What You'll Do:
Provide leadership in the delivery of quality within the YMCA aquatic department. Understand overall branch revenue and program goals, plan and execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department goals, membership goals and member engagement. Champion a culture where teams love to work, and members love to visit; recognize member-centered behaviors and reward outstanding performance. Creates and sustains an environment that values all people for their unique talents. Takes an active role in promoting and leveraging practices that support diversity, inclusion, global engagement, and cultural competence. Work a schedule that aligns to guest and business needs (this includes early morning, evening, and weekends). Ensure the swimming facility is meeting or exceeding the Aquatic Safety Standards. Facilitate monthly in-service meetings that include skill review. Supervise staff and ensure appropriate staffing of pool. Coordinate breaks and rotate staff. Ensure program quality and monitor staff performance and member service. Develop high quality aquatics programs, including swim lessons and water fitness that meet the needs of the community. Ensure safety and prevent injuries by supervising the pool area. Ensure no distraction or interference with the ability to hear or see signs of distress.
