The Family Office Management group at Bessemer Trust provides accounting and reporting services to a wide variety of high-net-worth individuals and their foundations and is currently seeking an Accountant with strong accounting and QuickBooks experience for a position in their Woodbridge, New Jersey office.
The primary focus of this position will be inputting, analyzing, and summarizing current as well as historical financial data to support the preparation of many of the following unaudited statements: balance sheets, net worth statements, income and expense reports, budgets, cash flow statements and estate plan summaries.
Primary Responsibilities:
Recording of each client's personal and investment income and expenses, and reconciliation of totals to monthly bank or broker statements and annual 1099sRecording alternative investment transactions and reconciling to respective K-1sPreparation of adjusting and eliminating journal entries for monthly or quarterly consolidations when requiredPreparation of annual vendor 1099s for assigned clientsPromptly responding to clients' various informational requests, including ad hoc analyses and reporting needs, and resolution of any issuesProfessional collaboration and interaction with other departments including payroll, bill pay, consolidated investment reporting and tax, as well as communication with our client advisorsQualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and 3-5 years of experience in preparing and analyzing financial informationCPA preferredProficiency in the use of QuickBooks accounting software requiredTax experience beneficialDemonstration of a progression in responsibility with direct staff management experienceAdvanced computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft OfficeOrganizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple assignments for several clients in a fast-paced environment and the ability to meet deadlines with efficiency and accuracyDemonstrated ability to use tact, discretion, confidentiality, and good judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters and documentation
