As Programming Lead, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and magical environment where every camper can shine! You'll help get the counselors and campers hyped up for a fun day at some of their favorite activities! You'll spend your day helping the campers participate in each activity to the best of their ability and encouraging them to try new things. You will also be aiding other lead staff by supporting them and counselors by providing breaks. End your days with a campfire or evening programming under the stars!
What We Expect of You
Planning assigned activities for the week that are adaptive for the needs of our diverse campership.Ensuring that any activity supplies or other needed resources are availableWorking with the Camp Director to create program schedules and activities that are within the program budget.Budgeting and shopping for all program suppliesPlanning and implementing evening programsProvide breaks for Camp Counselor staffImplementing emergency action plans and emergency procedures as neededMaintaining communication and teamwork with cabin staff, day camp staff, other team leaders, and the camp directorCare for all physical needs of campers. This may include dressing, feeding, toileting, showering etc. Observe and assess camper behavior, applying any procedures or techniques as needed.Assisting in incoming and outgoing camp activities including check-in and cleaning of the cabin and other camp areas. Responsible for keeping the cabin and camp areas clean and organized.Living RequirementsSummer Camp season runs for 10 weeks, from May to August with sessions beginning on Sunday afternoon and ending on Friday afternoon - time to enjoy your weekend away to recharge! As our Programming Lead, you will live with the other lead counselors here at camp with all of your housing and meals, while camp is in session, provided for you!
What Do You Need to Qualify?
A heart filled with compassion and dedication to the well-being of campers with physical, cognitive, and/or developmental disabilities.Minimum one-year prior camp counselor experienceEnthusiasm, positivity, and a willingness to adapt to the ever-changing needs of our campers.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but not required.Clear background checks from local, state, and federal agenciesComplete all pre-summer paperwork, required training, and orientation activities.High School graduate or equivalent, or at least 18 years of ageUnderstanding of HIPPA confidentiality and sensitivity (training provided)Ability to assist in teaching and assisting campers with activity participationEnthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, compassion, self-control and team playerPhysical Requirements:
Must be able to actively participate in camp activities, including assisting campers with mobility needs, responding to emergencies, and maintaining constant supervision.Ability to work outdoors in various weather, remain on your feet for long periods, and perform physical tasks like bending, crouching, and lifting.Maintain high energy and enthusiasm throughout the dayNo alcohol or drug use while at camp.Must have the physical, auditory, and visual ability to respond to critical incidents.Position Information:Job Type:

Live on campus from Sunday to Friday. Friday evening and Saturday evening are free, returning to camp by Sunday morning. Break times and time off throughout the week based on rotating schedule.Pay:
$400-450 per week.Included:
Living quarters - in cabin with other lead staff.All meals during summer camp sessions.Free parking/storage if needed
