JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY We are seeking a qualified Purchasing Agent to join our team. In this position you will play a key role in the company's Purchasing functions and assist in organizing and awarding supplier contracts. Additionally, you will work with subcontractors and suppliers on purchasing materials and maintaining accurate contracts and budgets.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):Prepare plan take-offs, evaluate bids, and create construction budgetsProvide hard cost estimates for proformasManage NewStar PO systemProcess invoices weekly for compliance with bids, negotiated unit pricing and established budgetsIdentify new vendors in the marketAssist in resolving issues and conflicts related to Trade Partner activitiesWork with the accounting team to ensure timely payment to trade partners by monitoring AP reports and providing feedbackPrepare direct costs analysis and variances for reviewInteract with architect/engineering regarding plan changes impacting take-offsAnalyze plans for cost analysis recommendations and research cost of proposed design ideasValue engineer plans, products, and processesAssist with creating and working through specificationsNegotiate bids with trade contractorsRebate TrackingMaintain all Trade Contractor Agreements, Scopes of Work, of Insurance CertificatesPerform all other duties as requiredEXPERIENCE
College degree or equal work experienceExperience working in constructionExperience with NewStar a plusAbility to read and understand construction plansMust be efficient, detail oriented, and a quick learnerAbility to multitaskProficient in using MS Excel, MS Outlook, Bluebeam or Planswift experience preferred
