Job Details Orientation/Education Hours: Orientation/education hours are not guaranteed during the first 2 weeks of your assignment. Expect 25 hours. A hospital in Washington is looking for an experienced MedSurg RN for a travel contract. Job Requirements The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience. Hold an active BLS and WA License. Schedule Information Days 0700-1930 NOC 1900-0730 6 week cycles. Weekend Requirement Every other weekend Holiday Requirement yes Is there a call or standby requirement? no Unit Specific Information Unit Med/Surg/Ortho 2nd Floor of beds 34 Ratios 1:4, 1:5 Common diagnoses/Types of patients Orthopedic Patients: Hips, Knees, Shoulders, Spine, fractures General Medical/Surgical – pneumonia, heart failure, sepsis, chest pain, Gi Bleed, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, kidney failure, UTI Experience or 'Must have' skills Med/Surg. Ortho preferred Are RNs required to titrate drips? yes Common titratable &/or set rate drips Heparin, Cardizem Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Yes/Yes RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Cpap/Bipap Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes. Yes, monitor techs RNs must be able to read basic strips Additional Details BLS; Region III: Primary to St. Michael Medical Center but if needed, travelers will be required to float throughout Region Three: St Anthony Hospital – Gig Harbor, WA; St. Michael Medical Center – Silverdale, WA.
