Job Description

This position is responsible to help the Q.A. Director to implement and manage all necessary Quality Assurance programs as required by company policy and/or applicable regulations and also perform the QA Technician duties as needed.

Duties and responsibilitiesMonitor operation for compliance to Company's quality assurance and food safety policies.Knowledge of HACCP, SQF, GMP.Monitor finished product specifications and enforce compliance.Conducting food safety and quality checks at required frequencies.Responsible for validating SOP through microbiological analysis, and use data along with knowledge and experience to make decisions to determine proper actions.Responsible for accurately reporting and reviewing data on daily HACCP documentResolve product quality, health and safety issues and communicate with management on a regular basis the status of all complaints.Sample collection/inspections/preparation, analytical testing, interpretation, recording and reporting of analytical results in the appropriate quality system.Manage, direct, and perform all activities of Quality in this facilityProvide technical and other assistance to Operations as required. Areas include plant safety training, chemical usage and handling, GMP training, Food Safety training, regulatory compliance and other technical assistance as required.Other duties as assigned. Knowledge in food manufacturing operation and strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and SQF Code.Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.Computer literate in Microsoft Office and Internet applications.Detail oriented and analytical skills. Effective communication and report writing skillsCapable to read, write, and understand policies and guidelines, specifications and safety standards.Able to work independently.Record keeping, Process Improvement, Analyzing informationAttention to detail, thoroughness, dealing with complexity. Ability to solve practical problems and make timely decisions with limited amount of information.Instrumentation knowledge: Thermometers, Basic TitrationVerbal and decision making skillsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, time management, and open availability.An eye for detail and a desire for continuous improvement. Efficient performance as a team player.

Working conditions

Office, Warehouse and Processing Room Environments; with open availability to work weekends as necessary, and the ability to lift 50 pounds as needed.
