General Description of Duties
Performs a variety of complex administrative, technical, and research functions; to include professional work assisting in strategic planning, law enforcement and corrections accreditation activities, and inspections throughout the Sheriff's Office. The coordinator assists the manager in collecting, compiling, and analyzing data and documentation from a variety of sources to identify outcomes of expected practices, keeping informed on accreditation processes, including proposed changes and/or amendments to the standards, transition policies or process changes. Must demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and be detail-oriented. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Professional Compliance and Strategic Planning Manager/Staff Inspector.

Tasks and Policies
TASKS AND POLICIES:• Provides presentations and/or trainings related to the accreditation and inspection process, as directed.• In preparation of reaccreditation, accurately completes the standards summary forms,• Generates highlighted documentation demonstrating proof of compliance, and updates the standards folders utilizing PowerDMS.• Operates computerized management information systems to retrieve or enter information.• Assists in conducting unscheduled examinations, inspections, and evaluations of selected functions, operations, procedures, units, and divisions to ensure adherence to agency policy and accreditation standards.• Maintains current information on accreditation standards and the interpretation and application of accreditation standards through active participation with appropriate accreditation commissions and professional associations.• Participates in accreditation related training.• Prepares reports and keeps records of all activities in accordance with established policy and procedures.• Successfully completes all assignments to specifications, within specified timeframe and budget as directed and in accordance with agency policies and regulations.• Plans, implements, and directs compliance for individual agency components, programs, operating policies and procedures.• Maintains and manages the PowerDMS Software program for policy review, tracking, and testing by agency personnel.• Provides advice, support and assistance by interpreting policies and procedures. Assists Command staff with revisions and/or reviews of new and revised policies to ensure compliance with accreditation standards and best practices.• Keeps informed about changes in accreditation standards and laws; recommends policy adjustments as needed.• Ensures all annual and/or time sensitive reviews, reports, audits, and inventories are completed as required by accreditation standards.• Provides information on accreditation programs, operations, policies, and procedures to external law enforcement and/or corrections agencies.• Provides advice/recommendations regarding the development and analysis of the MCSO strategic plan, mission, goals and objectives (e.g. organizational performance, assessments, strategic planning, coordination, and implementation).• Supports plan development and implementation and agency requirements.• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required, or high school diploma/GED with five (5) years of equivalent work experience.• Ability to obtain the Managing the Accreditation Process Certificate within six (6) months of employment.• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.• Must be NCIC/FCIC certified or complete CJIS online security awareness training within three (3) months of appointment.• Required to travel, several times per year, for periods up to one week.• Must pass MCSO 8-hour Driver Improvement Course.• Valid Florida Driver's License required.
