Description
Provide healthcare services at the Glynn Care Center. The center provides primary medical care and consultation for clients infected with or at risk of contracting HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases. Incumbent will provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed physician. Incumbent will complete physicals, provide treatment, counsel clients, and in some cases, prescribe medication.This is a part-time position not eligible for benefitsAll Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.Click HERE for Video

Job Responsibilities
Performs a comprehensive assessment of clients' health care needs: Uses appropriate interview techniques to obtain pertinent present, past, family, social, and sexual histories.• Performs a complete systematic physical examination to include Pap smear (women), genital and rectal exams at medical intake and annually.• Performs an approved mental status exam at intake and as medically indicated.• Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic studies consistent with adopted guidelines and established practice models for HIV management, OI prophylaxis and treatment and other chronic medical and psychological conditions with consideration of the scope of available resources.• Accurately analyzes and evaluates findings from health histories, laboratory studies and physical examination.• Develops a comprehensive plan of care that addresses HIV status, OI disease management and prevention, and other chronic conditions.• Completes/documents the plan of care within 72 hrs and modifies as medically indicated.• Collaborates effectively with clients, families, physicians, case managers, nurses, and other skilled health professionals in the plan of care development.• Develops differential dx and a strategy for evaluation when dx is unclearMinimum Qualifications
NP-Doctorate or Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia license as a APRN AND AND CPR certificationPA-Master's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as an APRN in the specialty area OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in physician assistant studies AND Two years of general medicine experience OR Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university AND completion of physician assistant training program of at least Twenty-Four months certified by the Accreditation Review Commission of the PA, ARC-PA AND certification to practice as a Physician Assistant by the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners (or eligibility to obtain within one year).Additional Information
