Job Summary :
This Data Analyst position will be responsible for supporting the development of data analytics programs and projects for the National Association of State Procurement Officials (NASPO) and Affiliate organizations (e.g. Procurement Professional Alliance (PPA), RFXP Premier, and Universal Public Procurement Certification Council (UPPCC), assisting in the creation of business intelligence initiatives that enable these organization's staff members, board leadership, corporate procurement, and portfolio sourcing teams to make data-driven decisions. This Data Analyst will need to collaborate with various departments to ensure the effective use of data to drive business objectives, improve operations, and enhance customer experiences. This position requires a deep understanding of data visualization techniques, statistical analysis, ETL processes, and data integration, management, and warehousing, combined with strong communication skills.
Essential Functions:Data Management and Analysis:Assist with the development and implementation of the overall data analytics strategy in alignment with organizational goals.Oversee the collection, storage, and analysis of large datasets using SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.), AWS tools (Lambda, S3, RDS, etc.) and other cloud technologies (Azure), scheduling tools (Airflow), and Python.Apply advanced skills and knowledge in data collection, cleansing, analysis, evaluation, and statistical methods, utilizing statistical packages for dataset analysis.Assist with the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data integrity, quality, and security.Collaborate with database engineers and architects to create, maintain, and optimize database structures and REST APIs.Integrate and aggregate data from multiple sources to support comprehensive reporting and analytics efforts.Contribute to multiple data analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals by coordinating with stakeholders to define scope, objectives, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.Foster a data-driven culture across the organization, promoting the use of data in decision-making processes.Continuously seek ways to enhance data processes and outcomes by staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, implementing best practices, and evaluating new tools and methodologies.Business Intelligence and Reporting:Design and implement business intelligence solutions using tools like Power BI, Tableau, and Salesforce to provide actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders.Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.Conduct ad hoc analyses to ensure data accuracy for various teams, projects, and reports.Collaboration and Communication:Partner with other departments (Finance, Conference and Events, Marketing, Membership, etc.) and NASPO Members to support their data needs and initiatives.Work closely with senior leadership to identify and prioritize business needs and opportunities for data analysis.Communicate complex data insights and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders.Work closely with the finance team to analyze and report on sales data projects, identifying trends and opportunities.Support the tech team in maintaining a technical shared services model for multiple organizations, such as NASPO, by utilizing shared business processes and databases to effectively feed data to these entities.Event Support:Travel to events to support conferences in setup and administration.Assist with event setup, including unpacking and organizing materials, directing attendees, and providing technical support.Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
Proven experience in a role within a data analytics function.Proven experience with data visualization techniques, statistical analysis, ETL processes, and data integration, management, and warehousing.Strong knowledge of data management, statistical analysis, and data visualization techniques.Expert Proficiency with data analytics tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI).Experience in working with Cloud technologies (AWS, AZURE)• Experience in working opensource Scheduling tools like Airflow.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.Experience with project management and working with cross-functional teams.Supervisory Responsibilities:
