Job Title:
Assistant Controller
Reports To: Controller
Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller will support the Controller and finance team in managing the company's accounting and financial activities.
This role involves ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, compliance with GAAP standards, and assisting in the
formulation of internal controls and policies.
Key Responsibilities:Implementation of new Grant Programs to include tracking use of funds data and financial reports.Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.Assisting with A/P and A/R activities.Assisting with claims billing when required.Manage journal entries and account reconciliations.Support budgeting and forecasting processes.Review accounting information for accuracy and compliance with regulations.Assist in formulating internal controls and policies.Work closely with the Controller to ensure compliance with accounting guidelines andregulations.
Provide high-level support to the Controller in managing the company's financial operations such as responsibility of the Foundation and NMTC (Nexus Real Estate Holdings)Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.CPA or CMA certification desired.Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in accounting or finance.Strong knowledge of Non-Profit (501c3), GAAP and financial reporting standards.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. MIP, SAP, Oracle/NetSuite, QuickBooks).Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Time management and multitasking abilities.Proficiency in Excel and other financial software.Familiar with ADP payroll and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
