Statement of the Position
:
The QA engineer (QAE) is responsible for the implementation of automated testing strategies to ensure application quality prior to product release.Duties include developing and executing automated test scripts that thoroughly test NSM application offerings. The QAE will also identify and analyze any defects found during the test phase and document them for review. Other tasks include developing and running new tests (both manual and automated), reporting on the results and collaborating with software developers to fix program issues.The QAE will also assist in identifying areas of value for automated strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities / Essential Functions:Own the IT PMO Testing process from end to end. i.e. feature components, QA, UAT, integration, etc.Demonstrate and train stakeholders newly developed system enhancementsParticipate in SDLC activities, planning, design and review sessionsReview functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage planDevelop, implement, and execute test plans, test cases, and scripts for new and existing systems and applications.Execute and evaluate manual or automated test cases and report test results.Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment.Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines

Required Education, Experience & Competencies:Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration with team members.5+ years related work experience with knowledge of SDLC with demonstrated QA skills.Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing.5+ years related work experience with Backend database testing in Microsoft SQL environment.Proven experience as a QA Engineer, System Tester, or similar role, preferably in IT system or software testing.Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, test case development, and software development life cycles.Experience working with Azure DevOpsStrong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, test case development, and software development life cycles.Proficiency in testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Telerik Test Studio, Cucumber, Fitness, or similar.Hands-on experience with both manual and automated testing.Preferred familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and test automation tools.Knowledge of database management, network concepts, and IT infrastructure.Exceptional analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
