Staff Systems Engineer , you’ll be responsible for being our internal product and technology expert who can lead a cross functional team on the development of on-market products. You will find solutions to complex product development problems, develop system level design documentation and requirements specification, and work with marketing, engineering, and other stakeholders. You will also participate in specialized functions such as developing and following specialized procedures in executing experiments, evaluation, and documentation of results. Additionally, you will develop working relationships with cross functional groups.What You’ll Work OnPerform product definition, system architecture, requirements writing, requirements management, requirements analysis, risk analysis, hazard analysis, product test and evaluation, system V & V, and/or design control documentation.Optimize design processes.Design and conduct system level characterization/verification of complex systems; collect, organize, analyze, and document test results.Integrate analytical and performance related elements with software, hardware, and electronics system components.Communicate effectively and participate on cross functional development teams with good negotiating skills to direct multi-disciplinary teams toward solutions.Collaborate across functional areas - interpret, present, and deliver information with product team members, scientists, engineers, and other systems development personnel across sites.Ensure quality through design techniques and design alternatives - lead and participate in Engineering Design Reviews utilizing Engineering Procedures and Engineering Tools, make recommendations, and identify design alternatives.Obtain customer feedback for new and/or improved products - obtain and provide inputs from internal sources and other internal or external customers and integrate inputs into products to achieve engineering goals.Select, build, and maintain Third Party Manufacturer (TPM) product and partner relationships - for Third Party Manufacturer products, lead the assessment of the proposed design and verification of subsystem or system to meet corresponding requirements.Utilize and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system.Be aware that failure to properly define requirements, integrate all systems, and verify/validate requirements could result in product introduction delays and quality issues.Be responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and perform other duties as assigned by management.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in engineering or physical science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Minimum 6 years of experience.Product development experience in Engineering or Physical Science.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree preferred.Experience working in manufacturing or with a Third Party Manufacturer is a plus.Experience in general engineering principles and laboratory skills.Strong knowledge of defined development processes that are consistent with ISO, FDA design control standards or requirements.Experience in one or more of the following: Electro-mechanical, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or mathematical technologies as they pertain to the design, integration, evaluation, and commercialization of diagnostic systems.Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, with an emphasis on influencing and guiding teams without direct authority.Proven ability to inspire collaboration, align stakeholders across different functions, and drive results in a cross functional environment.Ability to work on many subjects concurrently.Learn more about our benefits that add real value to your life to help you live fully:
