Construction Estimator

Job Title: Estimator – Structural Steel Components

Location: Office-Based

Reports To: VP of Sales and Estimating

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Estimator with 2+ years of experience in bridge construction, estimating, or a related field. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of bridge/civil construction methods and be comfortable reviewing construction plans and specifications. This role involves executing both computer-aided and manual estimates of structural steel components while supporting the preparation of comprehensive documentation.

Duties:

• Execute computer-aided and hand-takeoff estimates for structural steel components.
• Develop and maintain supporting documentation for complete estimates.
• Review construction plans, specifications, and vendor/subcontractor quotes for scope compliance.
• Identify basic and special requirements for the required scope of work, including buy-out items.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate and timely estimates.
• Assist in the training and development of junior estimators.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years in bridge construction, estimating, or a relevant field required.
• Strong understanding of bridge construction methods required.
• Comfortability reviewing construction plans and specifications required.
• Strong experience reviewing construction drawings preferred.
• Proficient in software applications, including Bluebeam and Outlook preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
