Role Summary: The Manager, External Reporting and Accounting is part of the growing finance and accounting team. Working in a fast-growing company, this position assists in shaping and refining financial reporting policies and procedures, preparation of internal and external financial reporting and accounting for research and development activities, including clinical trials and manufacturing. This position will play a key role in ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting and compliance with regulatory requirements. This is a full-time position based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being remote. Primary Responsibilities Include: Assist in the preparation of 10-Q, 10-K, annual proxy and shareholder’s meeting and other SEC filings including financial statements, footnote disclosures and MD&A to ensure timely and accurate filings Own the preparation of SEC filings for Section 16 officers (i.e. Form 3, Form 4) and ensure filing on timely basis Responsible for accounting and all transactional activity related to stock-based compensation within ETrade equity administration software and serve as key contact for stock-based compensation support to employees throughout the organization Serve as preparer for various areas of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement closes, including but not limited to, equity and R&D accounting (clinical trial, manufacturing) Assist with administration of SOX 404(b) internal control compliance program, including working with external auditor and internal control consultants to plan and coordinate timelines and support requests Works directly with various personnel in departments across the organization to obtain information necessary to ensure accurate disclosures in the Company’s financial statements. Coordination and preparation of disclosure committee procedures Research and identify new accounting standards, including working collaboratively with the broader finance team to implement and operationalize Assist in ad hoc technical accounting research and analysis as needed by the Company Education and Skills Requirements: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field is required CPA strongly preferred; MBA or Master’s degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of combined Public Accounting and Private Industry accounting experience; Life Science industry experience is required Strong knowledge and experience with U.S. GAAP, SOX 404(b) and SEC reporting is required Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions and build key external relationships with auditors, lawyers, etc. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are mandatory Ability to manage and complete projects with time constraints Ability to identify and learn software tools to help improve efficiencies Ability to successfully work independently and within a team environment Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information LI-Onsite The statements contained herein reflect general details as necessary to describe the principles functions for this job, the level of knowledge and skill typically required, and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
