Role Summary: The Senior Accountant supports the finance team in day-to-day operations and department- wide projects and is integral to the monthly close process, including reconciliations and journal entries. This role works independently in a fast-paced environment, has public company reporting experience and embraces a team mentality to support the entire organization This role is based in Waltham, MA without the possibility of being a remote role. Primary Responsibilities Include: Assist with driving the monthly closing process and prepare account reconciliations Work cross functionally to track monthly R&D and G&A accruals and improve processes Analyze monthly variances across accounts and investigate discrepancies as needed Review monthly GL transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency Review and monitor purchase requisitions to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization Act as point of contact for finance systems and provide operational support across all departments in the organization to support a high-growth company General ledger / ERP implementation and maintenance Support quarterly reviews and annual audit process with external auditors Support quarterly testing of internal control with external consultants Assist in establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. Support management and cross functional teams through ad-hoc reporting, analysis and special projects, and employee experience initiatives Work with various business providers to identify and implement appropriate software solutions for a high-growth company Education and Skills Requirements: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar field is required CPA is required Minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting - Life Science industry experience is preferred Solid knowledge of S. GAAP and SOX Highly detail-oriented and exceptionally organized; accountable to immediate team and internal stakeholders Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions and build key external relationships Excellent communication skills both written and verbal are mandatory Ability to manage and complete projects with time constraints Ability to successfully work independently and within a team environment LI-Onsite The statements contained herein reflect general details as necessary to describe the principles functions for this job, the level of knowledge and skill typically required, and the scope of responsibility, but should not be considered an all-inclusive listing of work requirements.
