Control Engineer

SUMMARYWe are in an expansion mode and looking for an Engineer to program and implement servo motion controllers, gauges and automation on our custom manufactured machinery. This person will report to the Engineering Manager and will have growth potential. The industries serviced include Tier 1 and Tier 2 Automotive, Aerospace, and Medical Devices in this high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES· Design and develop electrical and electromechanical systems , including servo motors, motion controls, and high precision feedback devices to be implemented on Glebar and Tridex model precision machinery· Analyze a design for functionality, cost effectiveness, and production readiness.· Interact with customers to establish requirement and provide solutions.· Plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate program of assigned engineering work and projects.· Work as part of a cross-functional team to design, validate, and implement machine design changes.· Test equipment, debug and isolate defects.· Evaluate the effectiveness of the design and change if necessary.· Estimate cost, reliability, and safety factors.· Control the efficiency of processes.· Build, test and modify product prototypes.
SKILLS· BS required; degree in any of the following: Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering· Strong automation skills with experience with robots programming needed.· Must have 3+ years of product design and development experience in an automated manufacturing environment· PLC design and programing required· HMI design & Development (list modeling tools experienced with)· Experience with industrial robotic systems, and process controls a plus· .Net C or C# programing skills a plus· Working knowledge of Mitsubishi Ladder programming FX3/FX5 , Beckhoff, Fanuc a plus· Vision system integration a plus· Machine tool design a plus· Experience in Autodesk Inventor, Inventor Vault, Solid Works, Epicor a plus.· Project management experience a plus
