Continuous Improvement Director - $1B Manufacturing Company - Columbia, SC
We are seeking a Continuous Improvement Director who employs a range of abilities, including project design, leadership, and management, to ensure performance enhancement and process evolution. This role involves utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles to spearhead continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence. The individual in this role is tasked with planning, scheduling, and executing continuous improvement activities and best practices across all sites.
Compensation
$185,000 total compensation, base + bonus + Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, PTO, 401k Match.
*Relocation is offered for candidates moving.100% Medical Benefits Covered401k Match 50% up to 6% of compensation
Job Description:· Develops and manages business improvement planning processes that align and prioritize improvement projects linked to business strategy and business planning at corporate and operational levels.· Coordinates CI collaboration process consistent with the Company’s Operating System· Collaborates with leadership cross-functionally to ensure effective execution of improvement projects and realization of impactful cost improvement· Collaborates to develop Continuous Improvement resources consistent with the needs of corporate and facility opportunities and processes. Note, most resources will be managed at the facility level, although at times a central ad hoc team might be required to work on corporate/business improvement processes, manage cross functional or transformational improvement projects or support the improvement planning process· Partners both internally and externally to actively standardize processes, create an atmosphere of continuous improvement, reduce costs, and collaborate with other functional teams· A keen focus on reducing waste and increasing value-added activities across the corporation· Utilizing data analysis/graphics to identify areas of opportunity.
Qualifications Seeking:· Bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of five years relevant experience. Master's a plus.· Specialized training in Continuous Improvement and experience driving continuous improvement programs for multiple manufacturing sites.· Lean Manufacturing Certification. Six Sigma black belt certification preferred.· Demonstrated leadership skills-principles and people.· Experienced working with multiple locations.· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.· Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, flexible.· Good reasoning abilities. Sound judgment.· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff at all levels.· Resourceful and well organized.· Ability to establish credibility and be decisive but be able to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.
