Position Overview:Staffers is seeking a dedicated and experienced
full-time Paralegal
to support our client’s team of attorneys in insurance defense litigation and workers’ compensation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, possess excellent organizational skills, and demonstrate a high level of professionalism. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic legal environment, contributing to complex legal cases while supporting a team of accomplished attorneys.
Key Responsibilities:Assist attorneys in all stages of insurance defense and workers' compensation litigation, including discovery, case preparation, and trial support.Draft and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence.Manage case files, ensuring all documents are properly organized, filed, and up to date.Conduct legal research and summarize case law, statutes, and other legal documents.Assist in fact-finding and investigation for cases, including reviewing medical records, reports, and other relevant documents.Coordinate with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel to facilitate case progress.Prepare exhibits and assist in trial preparation, including organizing materials, depositions, and witness testimony.Track important deadlines, maintain attorney calendars, and schedule appointments, hearings, and meetings.Provide general administrative support to the legal team as needed.Qualifications:Minimum of
5 years of experience
as a paralegal, preferably with a focus on insurance defense litigation and/or workers’ compensation.Strong understanding of litigation procedures and familiarity with the Mississippi court system.Proficiency in legal research and drafting of legal documents.Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, maintaining a proactive approach in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with legal software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Additional Information:Candidates will be eligible for consideration for one remote workday per week after successfully completing a
90-day trial period
