Job Description:We are seeking a skilled
Electrical Controls Engineering Technician
to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and documentation of electrical systems for production equipment. This position requires strong technical abilities and the capacity to supervise maintenance teams and contract trades on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:Perform hands-on installation support for new or modified production equipment.Supervise and direct internal maintenance and outside contractors during equipment installation and conversion processes.Troubleshoot and document Electrical and Controls Systems, ensuring successful start-up and operation of new equipment.Modify and complete documentation, including drawing packages, installation checklists, and machine specifications.Assess existing equipment for compatibility with new installations.Provide second-level troubleshooting support and coordinate the replacement of defective components.Procure and expedite materials for new or modified equipment.Develop and oversee electrical installation checklists and schedules.Prepare work orders and direct maintenance personnel in equipment assembly, testing, and installation.Train internal maintenance staff and outside contractors on new installation procedures.
Qualifications:Education:
AAS or BS in Electrical Engineering Technology, or equivalent work experience.Experience:
Minimum of 5 years in hands-on electrical installation and troubleshooting in a production environment.Skills:
Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office; strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills; knowledge of motion control systems and serial communications.Attributes:
Self-motivated, results-oriented, well-organized, and capable of handling multiple priorities in a team setting.
Additional Information:This role will primarily be based on the production floor.Strong practical hands-on aptitude and mechanical skills are essential.Flexibility for occasional travel to other plants in NC as needed.Expected hours may vary, with opportunities for overtime.
